The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art’s Third Thursday poster contest begins November 1, 2018 and ends November 25, 2018, at 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time (CST). By submitting an entry, a contestant agrees to the following rules of the contest:
Who may enter
The poster contest is open to people age 18 and older. Individuals affiliated with The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, including current employees, volunteers, board members, and their immediate families (children, siblings and spouses), vendors and independent contractors are not eligible to win.
What to enter
Eligible entries must include given text and museum logo. Click here for poster elements that MUST be included on the poster design, including the museum’s logo. There is no limit to the number of poster designs that may be submitted by one individual.
How to enter
Please submit posters and requested information online through the poster contest web page contest.nelson-atkins.org. We do not accept poster designs submitted through the mail or in person. High-quality scans of non-digital photographs are acceptable. Digital photographs should be taken at the highest resolution possible. Use the online entry form on our website. Complete a separate entry for each poster submitted. Winning selection will be printed in a 12 by 18-inch size format. Submitted files for upload must be in jpeg format and no larger than 10MB. Winner may be requested to provide native files (e.g. PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign) or high-resolution PDF files with all fonts and graphics embedded. Incomplete entries will be disqualified. Please do not contact us about the status of entries or judging.
Winners and Finalists
One (1) winner will be chosen, based on popular vote. Winner will be notified by email. The poster receiving the most votes online will be shown on the http://contest.nelson-atkins.org/contest/3/third-thursday web page. All decisions by the Nelson-Atkins in regard to this contest are final and binding in all respects.
The Nelson-Atkins will award one prize: a one-time honorarium payment of $300.
